Initiative “One Hour for Ukraine”: outcome

In December 2022, the request from Ukrainian authorities to join the initiative “One Hour For Ukraine” was distributed through the network “United for Ukraine” to local and regional authorities of the European countries. The initiative was aimed to stand with Ukraine during the Christmas of 2022 by symbolically switching off festive lights and cutting off festive illumination at homes for one hour on the 21st of December.

According to information from the organizers of the initiative, twenty-two cities have participated in this initiative, covering 59 cities and small towns. The overall number of locations where the lights were switched off was 111.

The letter of Gratitude  from the members of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada was sent to Mr.Andrius Kubilius, a coordinator of the network “United for Ukraine”.
