On 9 June U4U organized an online discussion with Andrius TAPINAS, initiator of a successful crowdfunding campaign in Lithuania to buy a Bayraktar drone for Ukrainian army, Lithuanian journalist, TV anchor and founder of “Liberty TV” online TV channel, author of science fiction novels.
On 25 May, Andrius Tapinas has launched a crowdfunding campaign to buy a Bayraktar TB2 military drone for Ukraine, with facilitation of the Lithuanian Government. The initial goal was to collect the needed EUR 5 million in 3 weeks. The full sum was raised in 3 days instead.
This is not only probably the first instance when citizens of one country purchased heavy weapons needed for another country. This is also an example of the Power of People.
